They utilise excessive flowery prose

Many times, to make an impression, students tend to use flowery prose and extremely difficult words in their writing to come across as well-read and knowledgeable. However, this step is entirely wrong and can easily put off a reader. To write an engaging plot, you have to write in a language that comes naturally to the reader. Thus, after confirming your audience, you should write in a tone and language that is comprehensible to the reader.
