How Do I activate Webroot VPN?

by grace edens (2022-12-28)

To solve the problem of an endless connection to Webroot servers or a connection error, we will use a VPN. What it is and how to work with it, we will tell further.  webroot.com/secure

To do this, we will use a VPN - simplified, these are special programs (there are those that need to be installed on a PC, and there are browser extensions) that will “replace” our current IP address (which does not change, and if it changes, it is extremely rare - for example, once a year) to another IP address, and it is very important that the new IP address is not USA (otherwise the error may not go away).

Instructions - installing and enabling VPN

As an example, I will show you how to download, register and enable Windscribe VPN.

  • Download and install the Windscribe app on your PC (Windows, Linux, Mac)

  • Sign up for an account on the Windscribe website - www.webroot.com/safe

  • Now, after installing the program, you can open it and log into the created account

  • You can check your current IP here - www.webroot.com/secure

  • Click the enable VPN button

  • After connecting, the program will turn a little green

  • Check again your IP address (link in step 4), it should change

  • Now you can try activating Webroot again

If even with the VPN turned on, an error connecting to the server crashes, then there is a chance that your version of Webroot is problematic, and you can try to reinstall it.
