How to make oat milk step by step?
Ingredients needed:
• 1 cup gluten-free, organic whole grain oats (preferred)
• 1/2 cups of water
• tablespoons muscovado sugar (organic brown), stevia, pure honey or can go unsweetened
• 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
• 1 teaspoon of vanilla or cinnamon essence, but this is your choice
• 1 tablespoon coconut oil (if you want a greasier consistency)
Step-by-step preparation
1 Oatmeal should be placed in a container with water and left to soak overnight, but if it is needed quickly, it should be left to rest for at least 30 minutes. When the designated time passes, you must strain the oat flakes.
2 Next, the preparation must be liquefied with the 2 ½ cups of water, it is important that this is well processed, liquefy the necessary time until they are as fine as possible.
3 It is important to use mineral water and not tap water, since the latter alters its flavor. Sea salt must be used in the preparation, as this ingredient makes the milk much tastier.
4 You have to add the other ingredients and continue blending for a few seconds so that they are integrated.
5 Now you must strain the preparation to obtain the oat milk, for this a cloth strainer with small holes is used to achieve a preparation with a light texture. Gauze or a piece of fine cloth can be placed at the bottom of a common strainer
6 In case the milk has been left with oat flakes, it will be better to strain the preparation one or two more times until they are in a strainer.
7 If you want a more runny consistency, just add water to achieve the desired consistency.
8 Once all these steps are ready, you have to place them in a bottle with a lid and take it to the fridge.
9 It can be heated if you want to drink hot or add it to a cookie or cake recipe.
10 Oat milk lasts 5 days, if you do not drink this amount, the ingredients should be reduced to only prepare the amount that is going to be consumed.
