Robot Wars Strategy Guide - Learn About the 300 Shields Requirement!
by Terry White (2021-01-03)
300 Shields follows an old-fashioned style of game play. It starts with a four-frame scene that is easy to understand. A character appears on the top of the screen, and then lands on a platform under three small circles. This platform has a door symbol above it, that you can open by pressing the green light key. Spin the machine to earn five reels, then release its spin feature to gain another five reels.
When you have accumulated fifty credits, a scene with a machine gun appears on the right of the lower part of the screen. A robot soldier appears on the left of the machine gun and begins to fire at enemies on the screen. Aim your cannon at the enemies' icons and release the red button to scatter symbols that fill the entire screen. These symbols will drop down one by one into a treasure chest that is guarded by three machines.
If you hit the soldier with the scatter symbol, then he will fall and reveal a space with another robot soldier that is a lot stronger and has more health. The strong soldier will attack you before the weak one does and will definitely win the battle! The other robot will run away and open the gate to the secret area. You can also trigger the sequence by dropping all of your 300 shields when you land on the green circle on the lower half of the screen.
To earn the most points possible, aim at the screen where two green circle icons are positioned and release your weapons in those areas for the maximum amount of damage dealt on each enemy. When you activate a combination of the Warrior Ball and the Scatter Barrage, you will deal even more damage than normal. When you get the hang of using the combination correctly, you can start earning the items needed for the "300x Training" and "300x Strengthen" challenges listed below:
When you have accumulated five free spins of the Scatter Barrage, it will change into a Warrior Attack and can be used against waves of robots. The Warrior Attack deals a lot more damage and has a much longer range than the scatter feature. You will want to use this in larger groups as wave after wave of robots will approach your position and you will need to defend yourself with ease. As you progress through the levels, you will find that the free-spinning time will diminish and the stronger weapons will become more useful in taking out waves of the Machines.
