Method to Disable Webroot Antivirus:
by grace edens (2023-01-27)
How to Deactivate Webroot's antivirus?
Step 1: While Webroot is running, it remains minimized and is able to remain within the memory. Its existence can be detected by the Resident Shield icon in the tray of the system. Right-click onto this Resident Shield icon that is located inside the tray of the system and then click open the Webroot User Interface.
Step 2: Actions completed in step 1 will launch the main interface for users of the Webroot antivirus. On this screen, you'll be able to click on a button that says Resident Shield. Select this option or you can click on the Tools menu, select Advanced, and finally select Resident Shield.
Step 3: In the new window, you will notice an option called Resident Shield Active. It is necessary to uncheck this box in order to turn off your resident Shield.
It is important to note that the actions taken in step 3 can only disable the Resident Shield, but the scanner for emails and other antivirus protections will remain ON inside the memory. If you must disable all Webroot then you must close the program completely. It is important to note that this is not recommended. webroot.com/secure
Step 4: Create the changes you wish to make after deactivating Webroot and then switch the protection on once more.
Step 5: Protection can be activated using the instructions 1 through 3 and then confirming the box labeled Resident Shield Active.
Step 6: closing the main interface window to ensure that Webroot 's user interface shuts from the front, and also from the task bar but remains present in storage and system tray and continues to check the incoming as well as outgoing data.
