What is the Method To Keep Microsoft Office License When Reinstalling Windows?

Before moving Microsoft Office to another computer, check which version you are currently using. The build option affects how certain programs are ported. For example, if you have an Office 365 subscription, then you will not have any difficulties in transferring it. All you have to do is sign in to your Microsoft account on the new computer. If you have an Office 2013 or 2016 subscription, you will need to enter a 25-digit password to move it. Below you will find information on where to look for this key and how to use it correctly.

Step one - looking for a license key

To transfer your Office license, you must enter the 25-digit code found on the back of your disc cover. If you bought Office online, look for the activation code in your mailbox.

You will not have any problems if you bought the software from Microsoft along with the account, and then signed in - then the user's password and account will be associated with each other. Next, you will need to log in using the old data -

Step two - deactivate the license on the old device

  • Go to on the old computer;

  • Sign in to the Microsoft Store. You will need your email address and password for your Microsoft account to do this. Now all activated versions of the software are available to you;
