In these cases, our body, in the first place, obtains energy through the so-called "fat burning", which is actually technically an oxidation of free fatty acids from the degradation of triglyceride reserves (lipolysis). As you will see, something different happens to what happens when we do more demanding exercises, where our body uses mostly the carbohydrates stored in our body in the form of glycogen to use it as fuel.
