Every year, we test thousands of top rated irons to find the ones that are really worth your money, regardless of marketing claims. We gathered more than 50 products from more than 20 manufacturers in our most recent round of cross-category testing and narrowed the category down based on both lab and market testing. We added 18 more flat irons to the mix in our most recent evaluation.
In our control Climatology Chamber, we measure flat irons on swatches of hair, testing their ability to maintain straightness of a frizzy swatch by measuring width and thickness expansion after a 24-hour high humidity exposure.
